Katie’s Story

“My body would hurt so bad that I would either dread doing it or just not do it”

As I got heavier I found it more and more difficult to do the things I love like hiking, walking, camping, and playing with my toddler. My body would hurt so bad that I would either dread doing it or just not do it. I hated the way I looked and would avoid certain outings. At 38, I had an unprovoked pulmonary embolism that was a huge wake up call.

I had briefly thought about it here and there but never actually looked into it. I’m stubborn and competitive and never wanted to feel like I was taking the easy way out. However, with my PCOS and even working out with a personal trainer and having zero result I started to realize, maybe I couldn’t do it on my own. After my health scares, realizing how much I was missing out on, and realizing my family deserved better, I started looking into it.

From the very beginning I felt like they genuinely cared and were so helpful and compassionate and throughout my journey, that hasn’t changed. It has truly been one of the best experiences and I couldn’t be happier with the care I have received.
I can chase my three year old around or get down on the floor and enjoy it! I can go on walks and hikes and not be out of breath or hurt. I can go places and not be embarrassed and I can actually enjoy looking at clothes again.
